Our Story

Mac and Caity

What began as a chance connection in 2020 quickly grew into something extraordinary. Though the early days of our relationship were spent juggling FaceTime calls and occasional visits while Caity traveled for work, we always found ways to make the time together meaningful. Whether it was picnics, trips to the bookstore, or simply talking for hours, we developed a connection that felt effortless.

One of the first defining moments in our journey was caring for a tiny, sick kitten named Kiwi. At the time, Kiwi wasn’t expected to survive, and we hadn’t been seeing each other very long. We spent a weekend nursing her back to health, expecting to say goodbye—but Kiwi had other plans. Today, she’s one of our three beloved cats, a sweet reminder of how love and care can bring strength and joy, even in the toughest moments.

As time passed, our bond deepened, and we realized we wanted to build a life together. The proposal was a magical day at the Little Women Orchard House in Cambridge, Massachusetts, a place close to Caity’s heart. The incredible staff helped Mac plan everything—from flowers to a private champagne toast to a special moment in Louisa May Alcott’s bedroom, where Mac asked Caity to marry him. It was perfect, made even more special by the many photos capturing the moment (despite the museum’s usual no-photography rule!).

Today, our life is filled with shared traditions and simple joys—like binge-watching our favorite shows, holding up a finger to ask, “One more?” after every episode. Or our two-person “book club,” where Caity inevitably blows past the agreed-upon “stop and discuss” points, leaving Mac scrambling to catch up.

Our favorite tradition that we've established is our game of "Forever Rummy". A continuous game of rummy where we are keeping a running score that will go on forever. We set up a website that tracks the location of the games we play, so we can mark all of our trips with a special game that will display on a map. Mac's currently in the lead if anyone was wondering...

We’ve also become so close with each other’s families over the past few years and have cherished the experience of being an aunt and uncle together to our nephews and niece. From celebrating milestones to spending quiet evenings quilting (a hobby Caity picked up from Mac’s mom), we’ve built a life full of love, laughter, and family.

We’re so excited for this next chapter—continuing to laugh and grow together. Thank you for being part of our journey.
